The exploratorium houses a huge taxidermy room with specimens donated by B.J. Meek after he retired. They repurposed his vast collection for educational reference and study.
The collection, which occupies roughly half of the exploratorium, showcases animals from nearly every continent including lions, tigers, wolves, and grizzly bears. The taxidermy collection, which has, until recently, been exclusively for biology classes, will soon be open to the general public, and can be scheduled for tours by contacting biology professor Mark Cooper.

In this video, Cooper provides some background and history on the Mt. SAC taxidermy collection, a Hidden Gem in the Math and Sciences Building 61.
